Last Saturday after working out at the gym, I had just finished changing and went to dry my hair with one of those hair dryers that are hooked to the walls. As I started to dry my hair, I realized that on the counter next to me were some different items sitting there. I thought to myself there must be someone here, I will move if they come back before I am finished drying my hair. Well, sure enough, she came right around the corner and gave me a pretty scary look. I than said "oh I am sorry this must be your stuff here and I am in your way." She looked at me and said "YES" I don't know how to describe and put into words how she said "yes" It was one of those Yes's that was very defiant, like of course this is my spot and get out of my way!
So what did I do of course, appologized again and quickly moved over to the next hair dryer that was across the room. When I was finished drying my hair, I went to grab my straightner and makeup from my bag and went to the counter that was three away from hers. I wish I could describe this better.. I think I might just have to take a picture tomorrow when I go to the gym and put it up so everyone can actually visualize what happened! ha Anyways so there are two counters one just has the hair dryer on the wall and then there is a counter but no sinks, than there is a divider and after that another counter with two sinks. I went to the furthest sink away. I plugged in my straightner and started doing my makeup. I noticed that the sink next to me was running.
So I decided in my sort of tree hugger way... I should turn that off so it doesn't wast water. I turned it off. (it wasn't running like a full stream or anything it was just a small amount running constantly but enough to annoy me that I needed to turn it off)
Not but one minute later the lady who had previously got mad at me for stealing her space and using the hair dryer where she was doing her hair came over. She said "DID YOU JUST TURN OFF MY WATER???" I said "yes, I saw that it was running so I just turned it off" She got so upset and said "I just don't understand why you came over here, I thought you were drying your hair?" I said " I was done drying my hair" She said I just don't understand why you came over here I thought it would have taken longer to dry your hair I was going to come tell you that I left the water like this on purpose, it took me forever to get it running like this ugh" I said I am sorry I didn't know that you had left the water running on purpose, I thought someone just forgot to turn it off" She said "No, ugh."... long pause than walked away.
She came back again a few minutes later after she had fixed the water how she like it running again. she again "Scowled at me saying I don't understand why you came over here.... blah blah... and so on... I said to her "I am sorry if you would like me to move I am happy to move" She then growled a little and said no... So when I was done doing my hair and makeup.. I went to look in the mirior at myself to make sure all was good. I just had to pull down the back of my sweater a little. Well why I was doing this she peaked around the corner to make sure I hadn't turned off her water! ahhahah I wanted to turn the water off and run!!!
Anyways.. that was my first funny story at the gym... I guess she has been a real trouble there at the gym, she is very sly!
The other experience at the Gym was last night.. I am not going to tell the whole story just because I don't feel that it needs to be remembered in full and told. I went to get on the treadmill last night and there was a guy that had just gotten off , so I stepped onto that one. I was about to start, just getting my ipod all set and ready when he came back and said he wanted to wipe all the sweat off. which was nice it was very very sweaty from him. We than got talking about running and different kinds of races..
After that he left and I started my run.. I had just finished two miles when all of a sudden my treadmill said "Workout summary" I thought what in the world! I didn't push stop and I selected 40 minutes it has only been 17! I was a little flustered but started the treadmill back up again..
I am pretty sure that was a sign for me to leave and go do something else because not but two minutes into the run.. again the man that I had spoken with earlier that I had jumped onto his treadmill he had been using came back and hopped onto the treadmill next to me. He began telling me his life story how he had been married 21 horrible years, then got divorced, and he had a rebound with a guy! Then proceeding by telling me how he got excommunicated from the church... I don' t know how he knew or just assumed that I am LDS because I was in Provo Utah working out or something. I listened to him talk to me for over twenty minutes about being Gay and the church. Many things he said made sense and I agreed with him for example he talked about how in Utah it is much different with the church and how people are than if you were living in Oregon. He gave the example that in Oregon it is Black and white.. you either are a member and act and live up to everything, or you just aren't. Where in Utah.. it is a bit well shaky I will put it. People often call them Jack Mormons... Where during the week they aren't living up to the principles and ordinances in the Gospel, but then on Sunday they go to church and act like everything is fine and nothing happened. I also agreed with him in the sense that we are very judgemental, I wish this wasn't so, we should love everyone no matter the choices they choose to make. Everyone should feel welcome in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. However I Believe as it says in "The Family A Proclamation to the World" All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God.
The first commandment that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God’s commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife.
The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity."
God does love everyone and I know that he wants all of his Children to be able to one day return to live with him and the Savior Jesus Christ. I have such a strong testimony of this. There are many in this world who have gone astray and followed the ways of the world. Believing that man was created for man and woman for woman. I writing this because for me I do not understand... Why, why do people choose this, I ask myself?? For me, I have no one close who has chosen this path. I know many people in this situation, but I do not understand. God made a man and a woman for a reason, so that we can have children. A man and man cannot make children it is just not physically possible. For me, I tolerate this issue but do not understand and hurt to see those men and women who make these choices. They are missing out on so many blessing that our loving Heavenly Father has promised to us.
"We warn that individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets."
I also believe that God only gives us struggles, trials, or temptations that he knows we can handle. As it says in Alma 13: 28
"But that ye would humble yourselves before the Lord, and call on his holy name, and watch and pray continually, that ye may not be tempted above that which ye can bear, and thus be led by the Holy Spirit, becoming humble, meek, submissive, patient, full of love and all long-suffering;"

Is there Sugar in Syrup?? Than YES!!!
So many things have happened in the past few weeks!! Let's see... on Dec 3rd I interviewed for a full time postion at Nuskin, Product Support Specialist. I felt that the interview went well and was confident, however I didn't recieve the position. There were over 30 applicants and they did 8 interviews. So at least I got into the interview process right?? I wasn't all that upset that I didn't recieve the position but on Dec 8th when I recieved the email letting me know that I didn't recieve the postion this is what is said
"
All I wanted was a simple appology not a guilt trip of why she maybe forgot to insert my name! Oh well it is over now and I just laugh at it.. For some people here at work.. my new name is NAME ahhah
Dec 8th was the work party as well!! They had Brian Regan come, which was amazing! Every year they also give away gifts by doing a drawing. Because we had tickets this year we had to look for our number to pop up on the screen. I had kind of given up hope ever winning anything b/c I am just one of those people who just doesn' t win things. the second round of number came up on the screen and I was looking and saw something similiar to mine.. I thought I guess I will look down at my ticket and see if that is the same... and sure enough it was!!! I went up on stage and I won a HP Laptop!! Pretty sweet!! I was so surprised!! I was also very nervous for some reason! We also got $300 to Costco, some nuskin products of course, and an Easy up. What a great company to work for!!
So it only took me three days to open up the laptop! That thing is gigantic! I felt like we had just opened a new desktop. After talking over it, we decided it would be best to return it. This wasn't something we actually needed. We have 2 laptops already, plus a desk top. We got $754 back from Costco!
We also decided to return a mixer that my mother bought us for our wedding that we had never used. It just seemed to be taking up space in the kitchen. We didn't get too much for that but with the laptop money and the $300 we were already given I had $1,100 to Costco!
We have purchased many things with that money and are already down to only having just over $400. We are going to use that for Tires on our car. The back tires on the Honda are almost bare! I sure hope it doesn' t snow too much until we get home from our vacation over Christmas.
5 days until Christmas! 6 days until we fly to HAWAII!! yay, We are getting really excited to be able to get away and be warm in the sun!! I personally hate the snow and would love to live somewhere that stays above 70 degrees year round! We are leaving the 26th and we won't be home until the 7th of January!
Tim has never been to Hawaii so he is very excited! A couple of weeks ago, I decided to start making a list of things to do while we are there. I mentioned things like: hiking, surfing, kyaking, seeing waterfalls. Than I asked him for some ideas of what he would like to do. This is what he says:
"Lay on the beach like a beached whale"
"Pick a coconut and eat it"
This is his idea of a vacation. haha
I personally just can't wait to be in the sun, to be warm and enjoy the palm trees and ocean.
I really shouldn't have started this blog so late.. I had so many things I wanted to write about but forgot all of them
"

Dear NAME REALLY!!! I have worked for a company for almost 3 years and I get a DEAR NAME ... nothing was meant for me, it was all just a set email they send to everyone! Anyway... I spoke with my supervisor.. who than spoke to his manager which in return.. the person that wrote the email and manager spoke about it. The person that orginally wrote me an email than wrote me another one to appologize.
Melissa,
I want to truly apologize that I did not change the name field in the previous email I sent you today. I am truly sorry. All I can say is that I am recovering from the flu, on top of transmitting Payroll, and being short-staffed and having open enrollment, the office was busy today and I am so sorry that I neglected changing the name to yours. Please accept my sincerest regrets.

Turkey Day!
We woke up a little earlier than we wanted to..but I had a Turkey Trot 5k race to get to! Not sure how my body knows but every single time before I go running I seem to get sick! So Lately I try to tell myself and body that I am not going running. hahah yeah that doesn't really work, somehow my body just knows! Anyway I am sure no one wants to hear or read the rest of the details of what really happens to me so I will move on! The Race went well, however it was FREEZING!!!! Timmy bought me some new running pants at The Gap last week, so it was my first time trying them out! They were great! I actually felt like I had nothing on besides my running shoes and sweatshirt! hahah They also kept me warm which was nice!
My mom and I, also Dan Rasmussen, have kind of started doing this race since they started it three years ago. It has now become a tradition! It is crazy how many people signed up this year! It is nice to see that many people out being active but at the same time we decided it would be nice to have it like the small little race with only about 200 people like the first year we did the race! Even though my time has improved in the last three years, I keep getting placed lower and lower because of the amount of people that show up! Yesterday I finished my 5k with a time of 26:45, which was pretty good considering the weather! My mom finished around 34 minutes and Dan finished around 23 minutes! So we all did pretty good!
After the race we waited and waited hoping our name would be drawn for one of the prizes! My mom ended up winning a Pumpkin pie at the very end. While we were waiting and hoping our names would be called.. they announced a prize for $250 off a set of tires at Discount Tire. There was a family next to us, that said "oh that would be funny if we got our name drawn for that since we own a tire place" Sure enough what happened! One of their names got drawn and they took the prize. After I heard them talking and they said that they were just going to go buy the tires with their gift card and then take them over to their shop and sell them for full price! I don't know why this bothers me so much, but honestly if that were me and I owned a tire company. When they drew my name, I would have said, oh go ahead and pick someone else's name because we own a tire place so we don't need that. Maybe even trade a prize with someone else.... But plan to do that.. I think that is just rude!
After the race we went over to my parents. My mother made a delicious breakfast by scratch! We ate until we were stuffed! We then went to Timmy's parents for Thanksgiving Dinner. On our way we stopped at the Gas station and Timmy wanted a drink of course! While I was in there I noticed a couple getting two 44 oz drink and a huge thing of Nachos! I thought to myself "are they on their way to Thanksgiving dinner, did they just eat thanksgiving dinner, or... do they not have Thanksgiving with anyone" Anyway I just thought that was odd!
We arrived in Ogden at 1:59 p.m.! The reason I say that is because Tim, Timmy's dad said that if we were not there by 2:01 we were not eating and we had to pay him $10. hahah
Dinner was Great!! all the food was delicious! I really didn't eat too much. I held back and only had two rolls! I also didn't get any seconds! But somehow I still ended up with a pretty bad stomach ache.. it felt like knives stabbing in my stomach! We also played games and went shopping!

Health and Exercise
So about a week and a half ago I decided I wanted to get real skinny for Hawaii. We are going at the end of December. I decided to try the HCG Diet! My mother and father in law are doing it and have been fine with Great results! As for me .. this didn't work out too well! I was a little skeptical because only eating 500 calories a day! Well just doesn' t sound healthy. Plus finding out that every morning I would have to skip breakfast, which is in fact my favorite meal of the day! any other meal i would gladly skip, but BREAKFAST!! Anyway I went to the store and got some. Tim decided he would join me in this diet as well. We went and got tons of fruits and veggies and lean meat. The first two days of the diet.. well they were great! Getting to eat whatever I wanted and when i wanted. Day 3.... started.. i began the day with a slight headache but just tried to guzzle more water during the morning because we weren't supposed to eat breakfast.. Then I ate lunch, the small portion of meat and veggies. I counted my calories the first day and I only ate 460 calories. Day 4 was about the same I was hungry in the morning.. then i ate lunch and felt better, I went to Young Womens that night and so I didn't get to eat dinner until I got home from that. Day 5 I started out in the morning with a headache again.. by dinner time though I was feeling pretty good so I decided to do a little work out. I did Bob's 20 min workout from Biggest Loser. I was out of breath half way through.. so just took it easy throughout the whole thing. I was really struggling with the fact that I just ran a full marathon just over a month ago and now a 20 min workout was killing me! Day 6 which was last Friday, I woke up and my vision slowly started going blurry..I decided since I still had two hours before work that I would try to take a nap. I wasn't able to really fall asleep because of the light and the noise. When I got to work I ate an apple right away hoping that I would feel better. My vision was going in and out and for about 3 hours straight I felt so sick that I wanted to throw up. Tim came on his lunch break and brought me subway. That is when I decided I was done with this diet, for me it just wasn't worth it anymore. If I was going to feel like this everyday I would just rather be fat is what I thought!
So I have now decided I am just going to eat healthy, exercise like crazy (like I love to do of course) and be happy with who I am. So on Monday this week.. I went to 24 hour Fitness and got their 7 day free trial for the gym. I am loving it! Monday night I went running and biking, Tuesday morning I went to the cycling class, swam some laps, and sat in the steam room! I felt like a child again! having so much energy and getting to sit in the steam room. I haven't sat in one of those since I was a kid. We used to have a membership to the SportsMall in Murray where I grew up, I would go and work out with my mom and then we would sit in the steam room. My favorite part about it is that they had a hose where I would be able to squirt myself to cool off. I also came back that night again and worked out!
This morning I went to a class called Zumba! I had tons of fun but I am definitely not a dancer and not that coordinated! haha I think I am going to keep attending each week and hopefully one day I will get the hang of it.
But anyways, I feel great, and am loving working out and having energy! Nothing against those who do the HCG, I just don't think that was something for me.

Respecting People for the choices they make
So I just got finished taking a phone call, where I was setting up a new Distributor for Nuskin. When they gave me the social security number, I noticed that it started the same way mine does. So me trying to make small talk and the conversation fun, I said "Oh was she born in Utah by chance?" she than said "Yes, and you probably know all of my family", than continued on and said "So are you one of those Mormons?" I said "Yes I am LDS" They then continued to laugh for like 3 minutes! What in the world! I was so mad so the rest of the conversation I just had to bite my lip on other things I wanted to say back. I could have said "no I am not Mormon, my name is Melissa, because well techniqually no we aren't Mormon, Mormon is the name of a Faithful man in the Book of Mormon. Maybe not all LDS people act the way I do but according Article of Faith #11 it states as follows:
"We claim the priviledge of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may."
I believe this to be true and should be honored by all members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I also believe that any one of any other Faith should let anyone else worship the way they like to as well, without being mocked.
I have had many friendships in my life with people not of my Faith, this doesn't mean that they are horrible people. These people might also drink or do drugs, but that is their choice. I remember specifically in college a good friend of mine. I was his DD Designated Driver sometimes. I let him know that I didn't mind that he drank, that was his choice. But he was not allowed to offer it to me because it was my choice and I have chosen that I would never do that. We had a wonderful friendship, unfortunately, we have both moved and not kept in great touch. I remember one day he told me that he respected me because of the way I respected him for who he was and that I never judged him.
"The Lord gave a warning to guide us in our judgment of others: "With what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. As much as we can, we should judge people's situations rather than judging the people themselves.
Judgment is an important use of our agency and requires great care, especially when we make judgments about other people. All our judgments must be guided by righteous standards. Only God, who knows each individual's heart, can make final judgments of individuals." (lds.org)
Anyways, off my soap box, I just wish people would respect everyone.

Date night with the hubby
A Romantic dinner for two set up by my wonderful Husband Timmy
Yesterday was kind of a frustrating day... In the morning I got up early and went to my parents to get my mother ready for Halloween day at her school which was fun. As you can see below..
And than just a lot of frustrating things happened... Timmy asked me if there was anything we needed at the store when he went to get his prescriptions. (He went to the doctor yesterday .. and found out he has a case of really dry skin with the weather changing and everything and some Eczema on his hands and that is why he has been so itchy the past 4 weeks. We thought maybe he was allergic to some of the shampoo's or soaps we were using. We joked about him being allergic to water because we even tried changing soaps and shampoo but that didn't seem to help his itchiness problem.) Anyways, So I decided I wanted to have something good for dinner.. I asked him to look for the PF changs frozen dinner with the orange chicken. He surprised me when I got home with the table all set, with the yummy chicken and rice, egg rolls, and yummy Perrier mineral water! It was really fun. After dinner we went to a movie "Life as we Know It" We thought it was a pretty good movie. It was one of those movies that is very predictable but it was still good. During the movie we got the bucket of popcorn that you can refill. yeah.. we ate both the first bucket and the refill.. We are sick! We also felt sick afterwards! After the movie we went to Smiths and got 3 half gallons of chocolate milk.. They have it on sale right now for 99 cents each half gallon... which is a great deal! Since we love chocolate milk so much we will probably be going back before tuesday when the sale is over. We have already finished off one half gallon since last night! We came home and played the game "Ticket to Ride" and I won of course! haha

Tumbling Gyms
Tim and I went to a Tumbling gym in Provo last night and met up with some of his old room mates. It was a lot of fun but boy it smelt like stinky stinky feet or as Tim said "cat pee" It was fun to see all of his room mates I hadn't seen them in a very long time. When we walked in Mark announced as us the married couple. Haha We jumped on the Trampolines and also jumped on a smaller Trampoline into a big pit of just these foam square things.... now that is what stunk... I wonder how often they replace those things. That is just gross.. I felt so gross and dirty as soon as I landed in the pile. It was really fun. It was like jumping off the diving board except without getting wet. So because I took diving lessons when I was little and was able to learn how to dive pretty well... well for some odd reason I can't just do one front flip.. it either has to be a one and a half that end in a dive or a double front flip. I decided to go off to try just doing a front flip and nope I ended up diving right in to the pile and getting a good stretch in my stomach and back. It hurt! So after that I stuck to doing Gainer's (meaning a back flip, but going off the tramp forwards.) those are a lot better.

MIRACLE!! the KEYS were Found!!
My mother checked her car three times and well .. I guess it's true with "the third time is the charm!" She found them in the door pocket of the car... She said she didn't think to look there! haha well I am glad they were found.. it was going to cost $105 to replace the keys to the Honda
LOST KEYS
So Last night I went to a meeting with my parents at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Orem. I remember locking the door and than I thought I put them in my purse and got in my parents car. I went to the meeting at the Hampton Inn and then I rode with Timmy on the way home. Timmy unlocked the door to the apartment so I didn't worry about pulling out my keys. I walked in and set my purse down on the chair in the kitchen. We ate banana cream pie and ice cream with my parents and than went to bed. I woke up the next morning and when I went to take Timmy to school.. I looked in my purse and they weren't there. I have looked everywhere... well of course except the place they are.. but I can't imagine them jumping out of my purse. I checked the hotel.. my mom has checked her car twice and I have looked it places I would have never thought keys could be. This is the weirdest thing!! Hopefully I will find them.

Weekend in California for Walker's Baptism
Well after like 20 minutes I finally figured out how to add multiple pictures at once! What a struggle I had. I thought I had to add one than go back. haha nope sure didn't.. I can just add them all at once. I will know that for next time.
So this past weekend we went to visit Tim's sister Heather and her family in Merced, California. Our nephew Walker got baptized on Saturday. The drive there went pretty good. I drove the first 7 hours of the trip. I drove for 4 and a half hours straight before I finally decided I better use the bathroom. We stopped in this really dumpy town where we had to drive around for a few minutes trying to find a gas station. Chevron was down some random street at the end of the street of course. We paid $3.19 for that lovely tank of gas!! I haven't paid that much in about a year I think! I thought this better be some amazing gas we are getting. So I still felt pretty good at this point. It was almost 3 in the morning and I was now on my 3rd wind or something like that. Not sure if that actually exists. Anyway, Brigitte decided she would sit up front with me to keep me awake so that Tim could sleep and be ready to drive next. We started the Ipod and got some good music going that was upbeat so I would be able to stay awake. Brigitte lasted about 20 minutes and than she started head bobbing and than she was completely asleep. I looked in the back and everyone else was also asleep. I thought to myself, Ok I gotta stay awake now. So I was singing with the music and I started moving my feet up and down to stay awake. About 15 miles before we hit Reno I decided I was done driving. I was really starting to fall asleep. Tim started driving and I just felt sick now at this point.. I hadn't slept in almost 24 hours at this point. So of course now that it was time for me to sleep... I couldn't. For the rest of the drive I just stayed awake. We arrived in Merced in just under 12 hours.
They had planned to go to Yosemite National Park that afternoon. I was being indecisive as usual and couldn't decide whether I wanted to go or not. I didn't know when I would have a chance to go again and I have wanted to go there for awhile, but I didn't feel good at all. At this point I had now gone like 30 or more hours without sleep. I decided to take a shower and than I would decide after that depending on how that made me feel. So after going back and forth for awhile and not being able to decide, I decided I would go. Tim decided that he would drive so that I could maybe sleep a little bit. I think I got about 5 minutes of sleep. Everytime I started to fall asleep, we were either stopping fast or taking a sharp turn. That is ok... it was worth not sleeping. I enjoyed the view as well as all of the places that we stopped. Above are some of the pictures that were taken while in Yosemite. The drive back down the canyon was crazy!! I have never seen so much down hill driving before in my life. We than stopped by Trader Joe's in Fresno, where I bought some Suisse Dark Chocolate! Yummy! At the register when we purchased the chocolate, the cashier also gave us two Reeses. Dark chocolate ones!! Those were amazing! We then went to dinner at a fast food place called Rally's. Tim's Family loves this place. It was pretty good. The fries were really good.
We came back to Heather and Mike's place and it was time to celebrate all of the October Birthdays. It was fun to watch all of them open there presents. It was then time for games. We played Hand and Foot, another favorite of the Coles family, which I love as well even though I always lose! ha We stayed up until just after 1am. It was so nice to go to bed. In the morning we got ready. Tim and I went to the store because he forgot his church clothes so he needed to get a white shirt and the rest he was borrowing from Mike. We also went to the 99cent store and got a few things. When we got back it was time for Walkers Baptism. Tim had the opportunity to speak on the Holy Ghost and Marcy spoke on the Baptism. They both did a great job and brought the spirit into the meeting. It has been awhile since I have been to a baptism.. about 3 years... wow! I remember it was on my mission. For a moment while I was sitting there it brought me back to my mission. After the baptism I was walking to the car by myself and I unlocked the car and looked back.. there were 3 ladies in the car next to mine staring at me. I smiled and they rolled down there windows and one of them said to me..."we just wanted to tell you that you are beautiful, we have been watching you and we just think you have such a great smile and are so cute. I said thank you that is very nice. And they said, we just hope this makes your day. Yes it did... how cute they were! ha
Family and friends all came over afterwards to Heather's to eat. After everyone left we played Hand and Foot again. It was a late night again... not only did we stay up until about 1:30am but then.. Ian, Megan's son woke up very sick with a fever and was up all night crying so I didn't get much sleep.
We all woke up just before 6am to get ready to leave. We didn't end up leaving until around 8am though. The drive home was pretty scary!! It was pouring rain almost the entire way! There was probably only about 2 hours of the drive that it wasn't raining. When we were driving over Donners Pass we had some pretty scary moments. I made Tim drive slow because I was scared. I am pretty sure I was praying for like 12 hours straight... praying that we would all make it safely home. So again I wasn't able to sleep the entire drive until we got to Lehi, 20 minutes away from home and I was dead asleep at this point. I need to learn how to fall asleep in cars.

TOO Much NUSKIN...
So I have just come to a realization that I have now worked at Nuskin just a little too long. Last night I went to bed a little bit before Tim. He decided to stay up and study for his test that he will take later today. So when he came to bed, I started talking in my sleep and telling him how to use the Galvanic Spa. ahhaha I guess it took him a minute to get me to stop talking and wake me up to tell me what I was doing. Not really sure why I would be doing that because I rarely instruct people on how to use the spa at work, I am mostly placing orders and dealing with shipping issues. Maybe it was because I had some crazy call yesterday where the lady was claiming that all of our products were causing her heart to beat rapidly at random times throughout the day... I am not going to elaborate on this call but it was a pretty difficult call and was quiet frustrating.
Well last night... I was really feeling like I needed Caffeine. Tim and I have been off any kind of soda for the last 3 weeks. Well we broke our streak last night!! I gave in and we bought a 2 liter of wild cherry Pepsi. I only drank a cup... but already for not having it for 3 weeks I was feeling it and I had a hard time getting to sleep. We decided this weekend for our Trip to California for our Nephews baptism that we could drink soda and than after we would go back to not having it. We just started a little earlier than our trip! haha
I randomly decided I am going to try and start drinking a Gallon of water a day. Which is about 4 of my 32 oz bottles that I have. This is hard especially working at a call center.. I have to pee a lot. So than I don't drink much while I am at work and than try and chug when I get home. That isn't good though because then i go to the bathroom 2 to 3 times during the night while I should be sleeping.. I need to start right when I wake up and finish before 7pm maybe that way I won't have to wake up during the night to go to the bathroom.
So for Halloween... Tim and I want to be the Chimney man (Burt) and Mary Poppins. This has been a challenge trying to find clothes for that. We have been to two different D.I.'s and havent had much luck yet. Tim's mom has a whole outfit that my sister in law Heather wore a long time ago but she is smaller than me and it was made, fitted. So I have a hat so far and I was able to find a great wig, but that is all! As for Tim his costume shouldn't be too hard to create, we haven't really started looking for him though. I keep looking online and tell myself maybe I am just going to have to buy the costumes but I really don't want to spend $200 on a costume that I might wear twice!! not worth it!
Another thing that has been going on lately.... My parents literally have a crazy insane neighbor.... He has a video Camera that focuses on my parents house right by the garage area and driveway. It sits there all day recording. So that they can watch my parents every move. The Guy next door is in the FBI... he is crazy... His kids are basically imprisoned in their own house. They are home schooled and never leave the house. The neighbor kids if they want to play have to have a play date appointment to go over. And more to come

Blog #1 after my husband created this back in August!
Well... I don't really even know where to begin. There are so many things I have to write and want to write down so that I will remember these in years to come.
So Tim and I have been married just over a year now. We are currently living in an apartment in Orem, while Tim is finishing up school at UVU. He is Studying Business Marketing Management or something like that. I can't ever remember what the degree is actually called and so when people ask me what my husband is studying this is how it actually comes out. I recently graduated with my Bachelors in Science the degree is called Outdoor Recreation Management. When ever someone asks me what I graduated in and I tell them they always ask me ... "So did you just go camping all the time?" or funny questions like that. I also get the question.... "So you are going to be a Park Ranger?" hahaha REALLY??? when you look at me do you say to yourself, PARK RANGER!! heck no! I do LOVE the outdoors and would love to spend every minute of every day outside if I could and if it was warm and sunny of course, but I do love being close to things like a grocery store, restaurants, and shopping.
SIDE note: Since I met TIM (who works at the GAP in the Orem University Mall) I have started to well you could say enjoy shopping!! I have more clothes than I know what to do with.
I went for that degree because I actually would love to manage my own Recreation Center or Fitness Center one day. I enjoy working out and enjoy almost every sport there is. In April is when I walked and August is when I officially finished and received my Diploma. Some of you know but I had started an internship in April with Seven Peaks Water Park where I worked for two and a half week and than they decided to let me go. It was a very hard thing for me and that I had to deal with. I didn't understand and i had tons of thoughts running through my head when it all happened. They had told me that the reason for letting me go was that my schedule and personality were not working out for the job description. Which was very frustrating at the time because these particular people knew of my schedule and my hours that I could work before they even decided to interview me. Then.. my PERSONALITY! ahahah well I guess they just don't like Bubbly people who are great with customer service. At that point I had been working with Nuskin Enterprises for just over two years, which everyday for six hours I am practicing great customer service. Anyways... so what a wonderful Blessing this ended up to be to get fired from the place that i hated being at each day anyways. I had called my Professor that was over the internships to let him know that I had just been let go and wasn't sure on where to go or what to do. He happened to receive an email that morning from Dan Seder who is the Head in Recreation department over at Lindon who was looking for a Summer Head Swim Coach. What a perfect job opportunity for me!!! Swimming is my passion! I jumped on that like a Hawk. I called Dan up the very same day and applied. In my interview with him I was very nervous and not as confident with myself as I would have like to have been just because I had just been let go from my job and wasn't really having a positive attitude. I did try my very best however and just hoped that the 6 others who had applied and interviewed were not as qualified as I was. During the interview I mentioned that I used to coach for Lehi swim team and we started talking about the year to come and when the coaches meeting was. Dan mentioned that he wasn't sure on that so I said that I would call and speak with the manager at Lehi and than follow up with him. Which I did the very next day. When I left the interview on a Thursday, they said they would probably let me know if i got the position by the following Monday. An hour after I had made the call to them on Friday letting them know of when the meeting was they called me back to let me know they felt I would be the most qualified and wanted to hire me on as the Head Swim Coach. I was so thrilled I wanted to Cry!!! One of my dream jobs!! I have coached several swim teams before but never actually been the Head Coach of a team. What a great experience it was! There were several different things that I wanted to accomplish over the course of two months while coaching this team, but I also had so many things that I wasn't expecting come up that not all that I wanted to accomplish was finished. I wanted to create a kind of Coach's manual so that future coach's would have an idea of what to expect, have different drills and workouts for the kids so that this wouldn't be something they had to prepare each day. Something that would save them time and also just to have different ideas. Good News though! They invited me to come back again next year, which I am excited about. I will be preparing for this by creating those manuals for the next several months until the next season of swimming starts again.
Lets see.. Our one Year Anniversary was on August 7, 2010. We celebrated by going down to Vegas and visiting some friends Josh and Jenni Merrill. Where we went shopping and than the next morning Josh took us horseback riding somewhere out in the middle of no where in Las Vegas. We then traveled to St. George where we stayed at the Budget Inn. Not a bad place to stay! Work out room was something else.. nothing actually worked but everything else was great! We went to the Musical Tarzan at the Tuachan Theatre. That was amazing!! I am not usually someone to like musicals but this was really good! I enjoyed every minute of it.
Let me rewind again, sorry this is going to be scatter brained until i catch up to date. Back in the middle of may I was training for the Utah Valley Half Marathon and than later would be the St. George Marathon. I tore my Achilles tendon and found out that I have tendinitis in it as well. Oh the joys of letting that heal.. I wasn't able to run the Half Marathon which was in June because it was still healing. Finally in Late July I decided to try the running thing again... and results were... It worked.. I didn't hurt any more.. So I started the whole training process again. So 9 weeks later Oct 2nd running the St. George Marathon!! I was going for a 4 and a half hour finish time or really just hoping to finish after all that I had been through. So here's the story of the race and how I felt.. Mile 6 I clocked at 55 minutes and I thought to myself, "I thought I was going slower, slow down Melissa you went out way too fast, but I thought I was running slow, it is ok you are feeling great right now just keep going but slow it down a little. Mile 12 1 hr and 2min more had past.. ok good job you have slowed it down a little.... great but now I am feeling it.. the next four miles all I thought about was keep going you get to see your husband at mile 16.. you can do it!! I made it! Mile 16 it was now 2 hours and 44min in to the race! I was just on track for the 4 hr and 30 min mark! But I was feeling like crap!! I was in so much pain from my hips and all the way down my legs I just wanted to jump on the shuttle and be done with the stupid race. So I just told myself.. lets just finish... don't worry about your time just concentrate on finishing this race now! It was 90 degrees outside I had already guzzled probably 32 ounces of water by then and was still feeling dehydrated and wanting more!! There was one point where I was walking and a man on the side of the road asked if I needed anything.. I looked down to see his stash of coke and sprite or something and said.. "oh no... well unless you have water?" He said "I do a bottle it might be warm though" At that point I didn't care.. i just chugged the whole thing. The last three miles I finally started feeling a little better and thinking ok I can do this I am almost there. There were people handing out ICE which literally saved me... that felt so good. Then at 2 miles before the finish some sweet woman was handing out these huge yummy popsicles which i just walked and enjoyed that.. it was amazing! After that I felt like I could do it and I ran and ran until the finish! 5 hours and 6 minutes! not that great but i was just happy to finish this one. In 2008 when I ran it, the weather was completely different.. it was about 40 degrees outside and raining the entire time we ran. I finished that one in 4 hrs and 34 min.
